SUSTAINABILITY: STRATEGIC DEVELOPMENT AND INVOLVEMENT OF CITIZENS
Björn Grönholm, head of office, Union of the Baltic Cities:
“With their approach, the KaosPilots bring in new perspectives and elements to our complex project. These elements force us take a deep look at our process and goals. The KaosPilots open windows and doors for the cities and motivate all of us in finding the energy for taking the sustainable development process further, creating something new - our Sustainability Management Centres. Finding the energy and motivation is crucial for us particularly in a time where the public administrations in the cities are under a lot of stress due to local changes.”
City of Malmø, Sweden:
”I like the way of thinking new way – and still you go it in a structured way. You are not giving us the fixed ideas, or the fixed approach. No, I like your approach, you are not teaching, but you support. You make us feel the experts in this process providing us with guide-lines. You focus on our Learning and not just working. That is inspiring. So we are benefiting form this in many areas.”
Municipality of Kalmar, Sweden:
What encourage and motivate us through your education of us, is that there is not an element of what is correct and what is wrong. You do not have the teacher vs. pupil approach. Thought your “defining the key elements” you set the frames, and we define our selves how we want to do it. Your guidelines and feedback is very constructive.
As I said, I look at you a bit like… well in a football game you are the player that will make the difference in order to win.
City of Panevezys. Lithuania:
A really essential point I take with me is the encouragement to be more creative in our approach to sustainable development.
Region of Kouvola, Finland:
I have been working with education for many years. And I like a lot the methodology that you use, it is interesting. And our way of ma-king us dream, and then making plans are very effective, because it is very easy to make a plan, try to follow it and then forget about the process. Therefore it is really nice to keep coming back to the turning point.
YOUNGSTERS: LEADERSHIP AND COMPETENCE DEVELOPMENT
Vivian Skjold Henriksen, ungdomskonsulent, Frederikshavn:
