This page will be used to introduce some of the essays and articles I have written and feel proud of. Some of them are in English, some in Danish. I will build it up with a link to the text, followed by a brief introduction of the subject and style of writing.
FlightNavigator This is a small article I wrote for the Kaospilots about how it felt to be a new student at the Kaospilot school. It was supposed to be a personal essay, but I decided to write it as an article, to make our experience as understandable as possible to people from the outside world.
Den Tv-transmiterede overfladiskhed This is an essay that I am particularly proud of. It was my final exam in high school, and the grade given to me was “11”, which equals an “A”. The requirement for this essay was that it should in some way relate to a short text about “Homo Zapiens” – the modern human being, entertained by bread and wine, as in the Roman empire. It was written when the war in Iraq began, and deals mostly with the political situation of that time, combined with some general perspectives on human behavior, as perceived by a 20-year old.
Forslag til ændring af beboersammensætning i almene boligområder This is a law-proposal written to the Danish Secretary of Integration, concerning ghettos, and possible approaches to create a positive development in those areas. For this, I received a personal letter from Rikke Hvillshøj; our minister of integration, where she thanked me for my input to the discussion.
Romerrigets fald This is an extremely well-worked assignment about the fall of the Roman Empire. If you have a small hour or so, I strongly recommend that you read it. It gave me an “A”, or 11 in Danish.
Dårligt studiemiljø på Moesgård Here you can read an article I wrote for the University newspaper of Århus about the place where I studied before entering the Kaospilots. In retrospect, I believe I should have been a bit more critical towards my sources, as I later realized that those interviewed with positive attitudes towards the school are in the student board. Therefore, one must expect that they are more positive. Also, I made most of the interviews during a Friday after-school-party, which was not the best possible time to do so.
Tribute to the country of Denmark I wrote this poem on my way from Copenhagen to Århus a lovely Monday morning at 6 AM. I was in a train, and looked at the beautiful landscapes passing by. So if you think the poem is kind of corny, it is ok. I still believe it is wonderful.
De unges ikke-acceptable ensomhed By some odd reason, it is just not ok to be lonely if you are young. This causes many young people to be in a very desperate solution, since the problem they have; loneliness, is not acceptable. In fact, most people refuse to even speak about it. Read on, and get the story. This article was written for the anthropologists student-magazine.
